Google Photos App Reviews

I enjoy the utility of the Google Photos app, but Im tired of dismissing the same card every time I open the app. Im not turning on the background backup setting, and hassling me with that card and notification badge every time doesnt change my mind, it confirms for me that Im not going to do it. Give it up and make that card go away and maybe Ill add another star or two.

Uploads all my photos (even the Live Photos) so I can clear my phone out more often without manually uploading all of my photos to the computer. I have a newborn, so I take a lot of pictures. It also makes cool movies out of your photos and videos. I just really enjoy it. Oh! And you can look up specific things in your photos. Type in a persons name or type in a word like flowers or cats into the search engine and it will show you all the photos you have that fit the description. I really really love this app.

I love the app and has saved me multiple GBs of storage on my device. However the App Store says the app is only suppose to take around 80mbs of storage, but on my device it is taking over 400mbs. Ive tried deleting the app and restarting my phone but nothing has worked. My only other reason I didnt give this app 5 stars is because videos take a long time to load, even when on good wifi.

This app is awesome!! I had been getting messages on my phone about storage space running out and I wasnt sure what to do but with this app, I was able to transfer over all my photos and then delete them from my phone clearing up tons of extra space. My ONLY request is they add a way to sign in/sign out of the accounts so theyre more private. I wouldnt want someone to have access to them. Please add this then it would be perfect!!

Easy to back up, and access pictures on any device!

Its good I only have one complaint. Sometimes picture that have recently been taken arent in the correct chronological order. A picture that I could take today would be put in around 2006 with Google photos. It does get annoying and I wish this would be fixed!

This is a beautiful app, dont get me wrong. The problem is that there is a bug that doesnt allow me to delete photos. It is very important to me that I delete my photos but when I try to the app just seems to freeze. Please fix this bug Google!

Thank you Google! Thank you for so many free services. Thank you for saving my pictures. I got locked out of my iPhone. Being 61 years young I am pretty good with technology but I managed to be locked out of my iPhone. Being Greek I frieked out so I couldnt think straight. I asked both my well educated children with the same phones and not only did not help me by just telling me how to do it, they along with a few others their age told me to kiss my phone goodbye along with my pictures etc. But I was calm about my pictures because I knew, no matter theyre still there. Now, I really dont believe my pictures are not available to Big Brother. I dont believe others with their special talents can not access my pictures but I still keep them with you and I appreciate it. The risk is worth while besides what will be the harm if someone is watching my pictures? Im "a little old Greek lady", as my children refer to me. Its a GREAT APP, free, plenty of space, with dates and places for the pictures, easy to find a specific picture, the App picks pictures and makes videos & collages ( of course theres option of deleting them ), many different cool things and you never have to worry about loosing them. I highly recommend it! *by the way, I, restored my phone. I might be a little Greek lady but Im not a dummy!

Way better then iCloud storage. It may compress your pictures to 15 mega pixels but at least you get unlimited storage compared to iCloud. And if not you get 15GB of google drive storage free compared to iCloud 5gb free. The update that allows Live Photo Support is truly a masterpiece of storage. Now you can truly abandon iClouds bogus storage limits.

Its the best photo management service and at a good price. Blows all the others out of the water.

GREAT for backing up all my iPhone photos and videos automagically. In top of that it makes some impressive compilations of outinga and adventures. Probably made by some sweet machine learning algorithm. Has only gotten better as Ive used it.

The assistant is very useful and quite intelligent

Something when wrong, when I go to the trash can, and I just want to delete that photo permanently, and I push delete permanently, but it actually did work and then after a few weeks later I go to the trash can again to delete my other photos, my old photo I deleted the last few weeks ago is still there, Im like wow is there a bug in this app or a glitch or something, I do this again with my old photo to delete it again and then I try to get back to the trash can again, its still there, fix this plz, I really liked this app!

I absolutely love this app.

Backup & sync does not work in the background even when relevant settings are enabled. One must first open the app for backup of photos to begin. But dont exit the app, lest the process pause until the app is opened again - come on, guys!

It is Awesome! By far best invention Google has made. Love the way I can organize my photos, search and create albums/movies of my events.
