Awesome

Great app, syncs all of your photos and videos when iCloud gives up on you... The only thing I would like them to improve is syncing the photos when the app is not loaded, I need to always keep it running for it to sync

Amazing

Everyone should have this app on their phones. Comes in handy when you need to clear up space on phone

Cool

Lots of things

Keeping Memories Safe!

I was so worried about hard drives crashing or iCloud being too full to store our precious family photos. Then.... Google photos came along. I thought it was a great tool for storing photos.... Little did I realize all of the search features and cute little bells and whistles that would actually let me utilize our mountains of photos in new and creative ways! I needed to make a little slide show for a friend recently... I just sorted using face recognition and Google photos helped me make a slide show! It only took a few short minutes from start to finish. This is my favorite app!

Perfect for me

So nice to unclutter my device. Much less confusing. Did I say free? What not to like?

Love this!

Wish I had found it sooner! So easy to use!

Awesome

We just love it. It keeps track of our cherished memories. It creates video clip collage which is fantabulous......

Love this app!

Very easy to use! Love the way it makes collages and animations for me! I also like how easy it is to search for a photo. You can search by name, date, place, etc.

Pretty great app

I wish there was some way to have it just completely take over the native photo app on the phone. Also wish other apps could pull photos that are on this app for their use.

Pretty good. I want more.

This is a fantastic, fully fleshed-out app that I am very excited about. - Id like to see better photo editing built into the app. Its photo-editing should be as good as instagram or vsco. - Map View: Id love to be able to view all the photos on a world map that I could zoom in and out, etc.

I never take time to review but....

I have over 8,000 pictures, I know Im a hoarder of physical memories but this app has made my life soooo easy. I never have to worry about losing anything... Thanks Google photos

Superb

This is what Apple photos should have been from the start. Google does a super job of storing and organizing my photos. The default quality is fine as a backup for cell phone pics. And at the price of "free" its a no brainer for most people.

Yes Yes and More Yes

This app have saved my life and all my pictures since MySpace.

What iCloud Photos should be

Love this app. Only thing I wish it had was more manual options for tagging, keywords, exif editing, and a desktop version.

Holy Canoly

If I could only write one review, ever, it would be for this app. Im seriously blown away, I just watched the lesson on Lynda about this and I feel like my photos will finally have a home they can trust - no more unorganized photo messes - I tip my hat to you google, literally if I had a hat on Id tip it right off, wow you guys Im really impressed!

Best app ever

now i can have free space on my phone instead of having all my pictures stored on it!!!!

Cant connect and takes up too much cache space, need clear option not delete and reinstall

cant connect to internet yet Im always connected whether lte/4g/wifi, yet I cant perform certain actions, right!! Docs did this same bs for a while too, fix! Also clear cache, must delete and reinstall, app gets many GBs fast storing pics in cache which defeats space saving purpose of this app! Replaced iOS standard photos app for me with powerful photo delete option... Having a 16gb phone and tons of music means no room for photos. Granted it takes some data to upload to Google, when w/out wifi, but that matters not for most data plans these days, u can upload 1000s of photos/month w/mobile data and still keep it under 6gb/month. But most of us upload on wifi so turning on mobile data for upload is minor. The MAJOR hit has always been to disk space. As a former Dropbox fanboy, I was in the habit of deleting photos constantly from iOSs photos app, a painful cancer to my freedom. Now I can delete from within the Google photos app and it deletes from camera roll ie hard disk (after 30 days). Finally. So iOSs photos app can disappear into my useless folder as Google is all powerful. Obviously the layout, ease of use, sorting, quickness is tops, but knowing that I have free unlimited storage for what is truly a superb resolution with the high quality option is icing on my cake. And peace of mind knowing my photos are always safe is priceless but yet its free! Only downside was getting my old Dropbox pics over initially. Best workaround when using with google drive is to upload ur entire collection in a web browser like Firefox (if u kept a backup on pc) since the syncing on pc wasnt bringing all my photos stored in Google drive even though they were all there in my drive, on pc, online and in the app. The upload didnt even cause duplicates from the same photos already there! Nice! And when I used my wifes iPhone to sync to the same Google photos account, it showed a refresh symbol over duplicates so I knew which ones to delete, cool. The whole reason for switching anyway was that I couldnt edit files in Dropbox, like simple grocery lists for example; sad, sad. Now Google drive&photos does it all. It lets me remove from device from the app but keep in the cloud. I do wish drive had this app combined with its standard functionality instead of separate apps but since I can get rid of iOS photos from my homescreen it broke even. Highly recommend, especially the search features like word and facial recognition!

Useful app

Very useful app

Use only if you never plan on getting a new phone

I got a new phone and took all of the proper precautions to back up my apps and data. All other apps retained their data but this one. I lost hundreds of photos, including my childs entire first year. Garbage.

An amazing app

I may not take a ton of photos but this app is fantastic. I switch between OSs now and then and this app keeps everything up to date.
